The Process: Enduring God’s Way to the Promised Result

By Shane Wahner

Hey family,

I want to share something God placed on my heart—a powerful truth: The Process. If you’re in a season of delay, heaviness, or confusion, this message is for you. Take a moment to slow down and let this speak to your spirit.

Introduction

The process is the series of steps God uses to prepare us for what He has prepared for us. It can feel long, painful, or even lonely—but it’s necessary. Skipping steps delays or forfeits the promise.

1. The Process Is Required for the Promise

James 1:4 – “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Look at Joseph’s journey: betrayal, slavery, false accusation, prison—then the palace. All part of the process.

Genesis 50:20 – “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”

2. Even Jesus Had to Go Through the Process

Philippians 2:8 – “He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”

Hebrews 5:8–9 – “He learned obedience from what he suffered…”

3. Job – The Righteous Who Still Had to Endure

Job 1:21 – “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”

Job 23:10 – “When he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”

4. You Serve a King, Not a Genie

Luke 17:10 – “We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.”

We serve. He reigns. But He reigns with love.

Matthew 7:11 – “How much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts…”

5. Endurance Is Evidence of Faith

Matthew 24:13 – “The one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

Romans 4:20–21 – “He did not waver… fully persuaded…”

6. The Pain Is Part of the Preparation

David was anointed but had to wait, hide, and flee before he wore the crown.

Psalm 34:19 – “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him…”

7. God’s Process Protects You

Deuteronomy 8:2 – “To humble and test you…”

The wilderness was a filter for readiness, not a failure.

8. Trust the Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything…”

9. Your Process Helps Others

2 Corinthians 1:4 – “So that we can comfort others…”

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” That’s the goal. Not ease. Not comfort. But faithfulness.

Closing Words: Don’t skip the steps. Don’t resent the waiting. What God is doing in you is just as important as what He will do through you.

Galatians 6:9 – “Let us not grow weary… we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the process—even when we don’t understand it. Build our trust in the waiting. Shape us in the testing. May we endure like Joseph, Jesus, Job, David, and Abraham. Help us be faithful until the promise is fulfilled.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If this word spoke to you, let me know. I’m praying for everyone walking through the process. Let’s finish strong—together.
